Kirksville is a rural farming community that serves as the regional hub for Northeast Missouri. We see many farmers, Amish, and Mennonite patients as well as professors and students from A.T. Still University and Truman State University. There are also robust Hispanic and French Congolese communities in the surrounding area. We see a significant amount of pathology for such a small town including many patients with psychiatric illness, substance, and/or alcohol use disorders. One of the most unique aspects of our population is that they are very familiar with OMT and many will request it!
